Our space is proudly LGBTQ+ focused, feminist, body positive and consent-centred, offering an environment where everyone can feel comfortable and respected. We welcome both absolute beginners and experienced rope enthusiasts alike!
Founded in 2019, That Rope Place began as a concept in our living room and has grown into a full-fledged rope studio in the heart of Singapore.
Our instructors are experienced rope artists who have been tying together for more than 10 years. Known for their non-dogmatic approach to rope, deep and varied knowledge of both traditional and modern Shibari styles, you are in good hands learning in our studio.

THE SPACE
Conveniently located in Central Singapore (<10 minute walk from Outram Park and Chinatown MRT Stations), our studio offers 12 well-spaced rigging points, comfortable mats, and tasteful furnishings.
Tucked away in a quiet corner unit, we provide a private, comfortable space where you can feel at ease and fully present in your practice.

What We Offer
ROPE Classes
We offer classes to teach Shibari at all levels. Whether you are a total beginner and have never touched a rope before, or you want to hone your suspension skills or anything in between - we can offer you classes that suit your needs! You can join our community by buying a ticket through our booking page. We also offer private classes by request, which we can tailor for you.
Shoot your Rope scene with us
We know how challenging it can be to create professional rope images at the same time as you tie and connect to your partner. This is why we love to help you to capture the moments you share!
Likewise if you are a rope model looking for images for your portfolio, we can work with you to create your vision. We have everything you need for a rope photoshoot. From camera, backdrops, lighting and suspension equipment.

ROPE JAMS and practice sessions
Our rope jams are the perfect place to come and tie the kind of rope you like to tie. We have everything you need to practise shibari, and we are on hand to assist you as well.
Hire us to perform and teach
We love performing and teaching rope, and are happy to travel to share our passion with new and familiar groups! We have taught and performed across Asia and Europe.
Our classes are inclusive, and welcoming, and can be aimed at any level.
